Cyd Cymru / Wales Together was initially developed by Cardiff Council and the Vale of Glamorgan, with support from the Welsh Government’s Regional Collaboration Fund.
Over the past 2 years Cyd Cymru /Wales Together has been supported by an increasing range of Local Authority and Housing Association partners across Wales.Cyd Cymru is led by the City of Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan councils, and delivered in partnership with the Energy Saving Trust in Wales, and the energyhelpline.
Energy Saving Trust supports the project with impartial, accurate and independent advice to households on how to reduce carbon emissions, reduce fuel bills, use water more sustainably at home.
Our 2015 November collective energy auction saw over 70,000 sign-up with switchers saving over £345 on average and collective savings of £17.17 million.
The winning tariff was exclusive and was the cheapest collective deal we have ever negotiated. It offered savings of £277* compared to the average UK energy bill.
energyhelpline is our switching partner. They provide whole of market comparisons of electricity and gas offers already available in the market and act as an agent to help us negotiate a good collective deal from the energy suppliers.
They will assist individual customers once our special deals are in place, by running a special switching website supported by a free phone call centre service, explaining the deals to residents and managing the process for those who want to switch suppliers.
energyhelpline is fully accredited to the Ofgem Confidence Code to compare energy for domestic consumers.
